JP5 and JP5 are used together to setup motor enable options. JP5 is used to select motor enable method via the PC. Center post to pin 1 constantly enables the motor and is a good troubleshooting option when questioning your software setup. Center post to pin 3 selects the DB25 pin 14 signal to use as motor enable. This selection allows the user to control enable via the cnc software. In addition JP4 is also part of the motor enable scheme, essentially in series for using the pin 14 setting of JP5. To utilize the pin 14 option JP4 also must be jumpered betweens pins 1 and 2. Using the PC to control motor enable is highly recommended, for example MACH3 in the reset mode will disable motors. JP4 pin 2 to pin 3 gnd's the motor enable and again is a troubleshooting method that takes the opto isolator out of the loop.

5V PC Side of Isolators
Isolated 5V is necessary on the PC side of the opto circuits. If the PC has a USB port, then a USB cable attached to X2 will provide 5V. Otherwise a simple 5V wallwart power supply can be connected to X3.
5V Driver Side of Isolators
Simplest method is to jumper 5V from one of the driver boards to the interface via pin 9 of JP6. Otherwise, 5V can be provided to DRV5V pad and gnd to the DVRGND pad.
Open Collector Driver
T1 is a low current open collector driver that can be utlized to control a DC SSR.
X1-1 thru X1-4 Are pulled up to 5V for use as switch inputs for home and limit switches. X1-5 is GND on the PC side for switch returns. Do not connect X1-5 to the machine side gnd it is to be kept isolated and only connected to the PC DB25 returns via the Interface Board. X4-1 is connection to DB25 Pin 17, and X4-2 is connection to DB25 Pin 16. Both pins are pulled up to 5V.
Software Setup Step-Direction Outputs
Xstep - 2, Xdir - 3, Ystep - 4, Ydir - 5, Zstep - 6, Zdir - 7, Zstep - 8, Zdir - 9
Pin - 14, Jumper JP5 Pin2 to Pin 3, Jumper JP4 pin 2 to pin 3.
