Postby prabid » Fri Sep 04, 2009 8:01 pm

i built the l298/7 the new version 2009
first i connect the motor to the board and connect 12 volt power supply
the motor make noise and locked up and the chip heat up fast and the led power up too
when i connect it with 4 axis breakout board nothing happen the motor doesn't turn
note i built r9 r10 with 0.5 ohm 2 watt and how can i calculate the v ref sorry i am noob in electric matters

and when i rotate the rim the noise of the motor increase and decrease
but after while the motor didn't make noise and chip don't heat up just the led power up

i doun know where are the problem did the chip burn and how can i troubleshoot this
plz help me out

okay i take a 1k resistor and but one terminal in the phase which i will measure and the other terminal in the probe of the voltmeter
then i put one terminal of voltmeter in GND and the other in each phase
they all read 2.7 volt
and and jumper the pin 1 to GND and meauser the read didn't change they all same 2.7 to 2.0 volt
i dun know what else to do
???

i think the problem was in the pcb it self a short circuit or something i doun know

but i am don't know how to measure the v ref from the board
i am using 32v 6.25 amp power supply on 3 motor
and all my motor 4.2 amp bipolar parallel

The L297-8 is just a 2A driver, so you can't run the full power of your motor. Measure the DC voltage between gnd and vref to set it.
